Like the first installment, Lil Wayne’s No Ceilings 2 is primarily made up of freestyles, but there are a few original tracks scattered among the 24-song collection. One of the best of those brand new cuts is “Cross Me,” which finds Weezy working with Future, a natural move considering he spends a good chunk of the tape going in over the Atlanta rapper’s beats.
Here, Future is in a more melodic zone than we’ve heard from him recently, coming through with a bright hook despite the dark subject matter. Meanwhile, Wayne name-drops Pusha T, who recently took some thinly-veiled shots at the rapper on his most recent single. It’s hard to say whether Wayne’s line is meant to be a diss, but either way, we want to see the rapper’s squash the beef and team up, something Push has actually suggested.
